September is around the corner, and it is the most important month in the annual employment legislation amendment calendar after March. The draft amendment Bills are published at the end of July each year. By September, the changes to employment-related legislation will be at an advanced stage and Rob Cooper will be able to explain the changes and their impact on payroll offices in the 2022 Sage Mid-year Payroll Tax Update webinar.
At this early stage, the details of the changes are not yet available, but ‘variable remuneration’ and some aspects of the employment tax incentive requirements will be focused on.
The draft amendment Bills will no doubt introduce more changes, and possibly include the long overdue changes to the home office allowance and the travel allowance that were proposed two years ago in the 2021 Budget. On the labour law front, we might have finality on the promulgation of the Amendment Bills for the Compensation Fund and for Employment Equity.
In addition, the recent very valuable but confusing changes to the tax rules for long service awards will be explained in the webinar, as well as the concept of ‘ETI Qualifying’ months. In a down-to-earth presentation, the webinar will bring you up to date and help you with these changes, as well as looking ahead as best we can in these uncertain times.
As always, questions are welcome, and you will be provided with the slides as well as a comprehensive workbook for later reference purposes.
Join us to understand how these changes will affect your company.
